Embark on an unforgettable cycling adventure across 52 miles of stunning Argyll countryside, divided into four thrilling stages. Push your limits as you race against time to catch the ferry at each stage, all while soaking in the breath-taking landscapes. Are you ready to take on the challenge?

Starting on the stunning island of Arran, you will set off from Brodick and aim to catch the ferry at each stage of the journey, before finishing up in Rothesay with a chippy to celebrate.

Experience the beauty of cycling through stunning landscapes of islands, seas, and hills, all while making a meaningful impact. Your journey will help raise vital funds to support patients and families affected by cancer.

Beat the Ferry Image

Details:

  • Saturday, 10th May meeting approx. 7.00am at Troon Ferry terminal
  • The cycling ends in Rothesay then everyone will catch the ferry back to Wemyss Bay. From there, we have a coach available to take participants back to Troon to collect their vehicles – participants are welcome to arrange their own travel back from Wemyss Bay if they prefer
  • £50 registration (all ferry tickets, picnic lunch, chippy and Beatson cycling top are included in registration fee!)
  • £300 min sponsorship
  • Open to those aged 14+, with anyone under 18 being accompanied by a responsible adult
  • Participants are responsible for bringing their own bike and we recommend getting it serviced beforehand
  • A helmet must be worn at all times while cycling
  • Finishing time will be approximately 6pm
  • Snacks and water are provided once aboard the first ferry

The ferry times are suggested and we may split in to two groups and catch different ferries along the route:

 

The Route: 5 Ferries and 4 cycle stages

Ferry 1: Troon to Brodick – 08.00

Stage 1: Brodick to Lochranza – 14 miles

 

Ferry 2: Lochranza to Claonaig

Stage 2: Claonaig to Tarbert – 11 miles

 

Ferry 3: Tarbert to Portavadie

Stage 3:  Portavadie to Colintraive – 19 miles

 

Ferry 4: Colintraive to Rhuboddach

Stage 4: Rhuboddach to Rothesay – 8 miles

 

Ferry 5: Rothesay to Wemyss Bay

Return to Troon by coach provided
