We have teamed up with the National Will Service Network to provide a free Will service for anyone who needs it. There is no obligation to leave Beatson Cancer Charity a gift in your Will, but we sincerely hope that after taking care of your loved ones, you'll consider allocating a portion of your estate to us.
If you’d like more information or have any queries on legacy giving and its impact, please fill out the enquiry form at the bottom of this page or contact our Legacy Development Lead for an obligation-free chat.
If you would like more information on this no-obligation service or have any queries on legacy giving, simply enquire using the form at the bottom of this page or contact our legacy officer, Tegan, at Tegan.Lynn@beatsoncancercharity.org
Step 1: Request your Free Will Pack
Your National Free Will Network pack includes a step-by-step guide on how to use the service. You will receive a list of your six nearest participating solicitors.
Step 2: Choose your Solicitor
Select your preferred local solicitor from the options provided and make an appointment to have a simple Will made or updated for free.
Step 3: Make your Will
Work with your chosen solicitor to create or update your Will, ensuring your wishes are clearly communicated and legally binding.
You should update your Will at least every five years or whenever there are significant changes in your circumstances, such as birth, adoption, divorce, or death. An up-to-date will is the only way to guarantee that your wishes will be carried out as you want them.
When the time comes to include Beatson Cancer Charity in your Will, it couldn’t be easier. You’ll need our charity name, charity number, and registered address, along with details of your planned giving bequest.
Make a list of what you own
Write down all your assets and roughly what they’re worth. Then, make another list of everything you owe, such as outstanding mortgages or bank loans. This will give you a good idea of what your estate is worth.
Family First
Naturally, the needs of your family and friends will come first, but you may also want to include a gift to causes that are close to your heart. Think carefully about the people and organizations you want to remember in your Will, then decide how you’d like to divide your estate between them.
Choose your Executors
Consider who you’d like to carry out your wishes after your death. They’ll usually be friends, relatives, or professional people you trust.
Arrange to meet your Solicitor
We always recommend that you use a solicitor. It’s vital that your will is drawn up or amended professionally to provide security for your loved ones. To save you time and money, Beatson Cancer Charity has teamed up with the National Free Will Service to provide a no-obligation and absolutely free Will service in conjunction with a national network of participating solicitors.
Keep your Will Safe
Your Will is an important document, so it’s best to keep it in a safe place at home. Better still, leave a copy with your solicitor.
