Kind-hearted staff at Glasgow Taxis Ltd showed there is no boundary to their generosity by raising £2,270 for three local causes at their annual summer fun day.
The sum total generated by Glasgow Taxis staff, members and drivers on the first Sunday in July was split equally between Beatson Cancer Charity, The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice and CHAS. The first cheque for £756.66 was handed over by Glasgow Taxis office manager Helen Harvey and colleagues to Dawn Ferguson, Corporate & Events Fundraiser at Beatson Cancer Charity.
Glasgow Taxis vice chairman Stephen Flynn said:
“Beatson Cancer Charity is a wonderful cause close to the hearts of many at Glasgow Taxis and it’s only right that we do our bit to help and give a little back to the city and its people.
“Our annual summer fun day only happens thanks to the support of our staff, members and drivers as well as a host of local businesses and organisations close to Glasgow Taxis. Each and every one of them should be proud of the money raised and the important work it will support.”
David Welch, chief executive of Beatson Cancer Charity, added:
“Sincere thanks to Glasgow Taxis for the generous donation of £756.66 from its staff’s fun day event in July.
“This is an incredibly generous donation from the company and I’d like to send my sincere thanks to everyone involved for their commitment to Beatson Cancer Charity. Their generosity will have a direct impact on thousands of cancer patients and their families, both now and in the future, through the dedicated work of the charity.”
