On the 15th October, Beatson Cancer Charity Ambassador Carolyn McAlpine will run a Marathon every day for 15 days! Carolyn knows only too well the devastating effects cancer can have after losing her mum, dad and aunt over the last few years.
Carolyn and her family would travel the 100 miles from home in Tarbert to visit her dad during his treatment at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, in Glasgow. She said:
“Not that this really bothered us. After all, when someone you love needs help, you would drive them to the end of the earth to get them the best care, and the best care is what he got.”
Carolyn wants to highlight how far the Beatson’s services reach across the West of Scotland, and her 15 marathons will take place over 15 local authority areas covered by the Beatson, from Arran to Stirling.

Why not get together and cheer Carolyn on in your local area? This emotionally and physically draining challenge will mark a year since her mother’s passing and it would mean so much to Carolyn to see others out spreading awareness.
