Beatson Cancer Charity is proud to announce £13,820 was raised at our first ladies lunch to raise vital funds for patients and families affected by cancer in Scotland.
Beatson Cancer Charity invited guests for a day of glitz and glamour at its ‘Glasgow Ladies Lunch’ which took place yesterday (12 March) afternoon at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow.
The event was hosted by Scottish television presenter and Loose Women panelist Kaye Adams.
Guests were entertained with glamorous Hollywood tales from TV presenter, Ross King, before dancing the afternoon away with The Soul Brothers.
Ross King said: “It’s an honour to support Beatson Cancer Charity and be a part of this very special ladies lunch – it has been a huge success and I hope everyone had as much fun as I did!
“It’s great being back in Glasgow and has been a privilege to spend time with some inspiring people whilst raising a great amount of money along the way. I hope the money raised will make a huge difference to people living with cancer throughout Scotland.”
Guests had several opportunities throughout the event to win incredible prizes including a jacket signed by Take That and raise vital funds to support the 8,000 new patients and families who pass through the doors of The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre every year.
The money raised from the event will help to provide a comprehensive range of patient and family support services, including patient wellbeing and complementary therapy services delivered at the our unique Wellbeing Centre and throughout the cancer centre and related treatment centres across the west of Scotland.
Morag Cunningham, head of fundraising at Beatson Cancer Charity, said:
“It’s an honor to host our first ‘Annual Glasgow Ladies Lunch’ and to spend the afternoon surrounded by some incredible guests; I have no doubt this event will become another annual highlight in our events calendar.
“We continue to be amazed by the generosity of our supporters. This amount of money raised will make a huge difference to the thousands of cancer patients and their families, both now and in the future.”
