One of Scotland’s top leaders, Lena Wilson CBE, is helping to support the work of Beatson Cancer Charity by offering strategic advice on a pro bono basis as the organisation approaches its fifth year.
The former Scottish Enterprise chief executive will provide the well-known charity with expert advice and guidance, as it plans its next stage of development. The charity, which is based at the NHS Gartnavel campus in Glasgow’s west end, provides funding for medical research and clinical posts at The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, as well as a range of patient focused wellbeing and employment support services.

Lena has had an extensive international career including a spell as a senior advisor at the World Bank in Washington DC. She is currently a Non-Executive Director on the group Board of RBS, Intertek and Scottish Power Renewables.
As well as being a visiting professor at the University of Strathclyde, her other pro bono roles include acting as an ambassador for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and serving on the National Advisory Board of MCR pathways which helps vulnerable young people succeed. She has held many non-executive roles in the charitable sector over the past 20 years including 10 years on the Board of the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust.
