Looking after your wig, in the right way ensures that it will look and feel amazing for longer. Wig care isn’t as simple as many first think, as it does require a bit of extra care to prolong its life. We have provided you with two guides below on how to keep your wig in tip top condition and so it gets the care it truly deserves.
Special Care Instructions
- Make sure you do not apply excessive heat to your synthetic wig. Do not use curling irons; hair dryers or other heated styling instruments, as this will damage the fibre.
- Take care when you are in close proximity to areas of extreme heat, like ovens, fireplaces, radiators and dishwashers as the heat can damage the fibre.
- When you are not wearing your wig store it on a wig stand.
- Never brush your wig when it is wet.
- Wash your wig regularly with a specially formulated product as this will help maintain its natural appearance.
How to clean your wig
- Before you wash your wig, brush it gently using your wig brush.
- Add some wig shampoo to a bowl of cold or lukewarm water, gently immerse your wig and shake it delicately and then leave for three minutes.
- Repeat the process using a wig conditioner as this will soften and smooth your wig making it more manageable and giving it volume.
- Rinse in cold water, shake off the excess water and then place on a wig stand to dry at room temperature.
- Do not brush while wet.
- Do not use any form of heat to dry your wig and do not place on a radiator.
