On the 25th anniversary of the book, Scottish broadcaster Kaye Adams will interview Bridget Jones creator Helen Fielding for a special virtual fundraising event on Friday 19th March.

Joining the ITV Loose Woman host Kaye Adams from her base in London, Helen Fielding will celebrate and look back on 25 years of Bridget Jones. What would Bridget make of lockdown we wonder, what would her coping mechanisms be? As well as chat, a prize draw from Hollywood Gin, you’ll be able to grab your hairbrush if you fancy a  sing-a-long to “Do ya think I’m sexy…” with Rod Stewart tribute act, Simply Rod providing the tunes.

Bridget Jones’s Diary was named as one of the ten novels that best defined the 20th century and life then, as we knew it. Oh Bridge, fabulously flawed, relentlessly optimistic, the relatable gal pal who made us look at ourselves and think, yup, that's us! We love her for so many reasons, she has the biggest heart, she was the biggest over sharer before that was even a thing. Not forgetting of course, she is the one who literally runs down the street in her pants, in the snow, for love. She stole our hearts and made it totally legit for us to rock in our Granny pants.

Kaye Adams said:

It’s been 25 years since we met Bridget Jones and it’s always a joy to revisit her world. As a result of the Covid crisis nothing rings louder than what Bridget said ‘It is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces.’  I’m delighted to be supporting Beatson Cancer Charity and I know it will be an evening of fun filled, laughter and no doubt a tipple or two. I hope you can join us!”

“Beatson Cancer Charity need our help more than ever and this is a great way to enjoy a girls night out, in. It’s a live Zoom event so anything can happen!”

Joyce Ross, Corporate Partnership Manager said:

Since we had to cancel many of our events due to COVID-19, we wanted to find a fun way to fundraise whilst respecting the social distancing arrangements. Our events with charity ambassador Kaye Adams proved ever so popular and we’re thrilled that Helen will be joining us. As well as having a good blether, there will be a few surprises and prizes on the night!”

Joeanne Hamilton, Managing Director from sponsors Community Care Choice said:
