Join us as we go virtual again with our 8th annual Off the Beatson Track, which will now be earlier than usual in June. After careful deliberation, the decision was made to host another virtual challenge to prioritise the health and safety of the community during this time. Let’s turn villages, towns and the city yellow on the weekend of 12th and 13th of June.
Given the current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we were keen to find a way to offer 2 DAYS of opportunities to keep the much-loved experience in the calendar and a way to continue raising funds for cancer research and its services.
This is our flagship event and is a 10k (6.5miles) challenge which is suitable for all ages and mobility and is guaranteed a great ‘feel-good’ event. This year should be no different with us hoping that supporters will continue their celebration with Off the Beatson Track. Families can still take part but by staying local instead of the usual mass gathering city loop. Everyone can create their own route and participate in their own way. It’s entirely up to you! All we ask is that you join in, wear yellow and enjoy yourself!
Martin Cawley, CEO of the Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “Each year, we eagerly wait to see just how involved the community gets in our fundraising events. We have never been disappointed as they always make an effort. Early indications are that, despite COVID-19, this year will be no different”
“It is possible to stay local and still have fun, so we encourage everyone to get involved virtually and rack up some steps for a good cause.”
