The Glasgow Kiltwalk raised over £140,000 for Beatson Cancer Charity.

340 walkers took part in the event on Sunday 24th April, which was live for the first time in Glasgow since 2019.

Kilties were able to take part in the Mighty Stride (22.7 miles), the Big Stroll (14.37 miles) or the Wee Wander (3 miles).

105 people completed the 22.7 mile walk, which took between 6 and 10 hours on average to complete.

Our youngest walker on the day was just 5 years old, while our oldest was 77.

Every single penny raised was generously topped up by 50% thanks to Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation. In total, 10,000 Kiltwalkers helped raise £4 million for 685 Charities in Scotland.

£144,204.66 of this incredible amount has been donated to Beatson Cancer Charity, which will allow us to support cancer patients and their families.

Calum McNair, Challenges and Community Engagement Fundraiser at Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “We are completely overwhelmed by the incredible amount raised for our charity by everyone who took part in the Kiltwalk.

“It was such an amazing day – the sun came out and we loved seeing everyone walk together and enjoyed cheering all the walkers on for the first time since before the pandemic.

“The walk itself is no mean feat - so we are extremely grateful to everyone for participating and can’t wait to see you all again next year.”

From all of us at Team Beatson, thank you so much for all your support! 💛
