The Santa Dash is back in town this weekend. Here’s everything you need to know to get ready for the big day!
General Information
- The dash starts and finishes at Glasgow Green (Greendyke St, Saltmarket, Glasgow G1 5DB).
- If you have not already got your race number don't worry! You can collect them from our yellow gazebo on the day between 8.30am-9.30am on the day.
- Entries are now closed so we cannot accept any on the day.
- Please note that photography will be taken on the day and may be used in future marketing materials. If you wish not to be captured do let us know.
- Please bring weather-appropriate clothing and footwear, we want you to enjoy the day as much as possible. If you have participated in previous years, you will know how cold it can get!
- Don't forget your race number as this will give you access to your wave! We have waves to reduce congestion at the beginning of the run, and to keep everyone safe. Although this is a fun run for some, it is a race for others so please stick to your wave and be mindful of other runners.
- Please bring your own water bottle on the day as we are trying to be as sustainable as possible this year. Keep an eye out for our hydration station at the end of the run.
- There is no secure bag storage on the day so please be mindful when leaving bags in the gazebo.
Start Information
- 9.00-9.30am Arrive
- 9.30am Assembly Position: Please be in the assembly position at Glasgow Green by 9.30am. Your running number which is included in your race pack should be fixed to the front of your top with 4 pins (not supplied). Please note all participants who intend to walk, have prams, children with scooters, dogs etc should go in the final wave.
- 9.45 Warm Up: Remember it’s vital you warm up properly. Join in this fun warm-up led by Sam and Gemma!
- 9.50 Final preparations: Be in position and ready to run. Please follow instructions from the race officials
- 10.00 Wave 1 leaves
Finish Information
- PLEASE DO NOT STOP on reaching the finish line as this will block other runners from crossing the finish line. If you must stop, move to the side where the medical team will assist you if required.
- Race Medals: Your race medal should be collected immediately at the secondary finish area at Nelson Columns once you have passed through the finish area.
- The family reunion area can be found near the hydration station and Nelson's Column. We will have clear signage on the day so it will be easily locatable for anyone that needs it.
- Hydration Station: Refill your own water bottle after finishing the run.
- Refreshments: A snack van with hot drinks, rolls, and doughnuts, will be on site on the day!
Travel on the Day
We advise you arrive for 9.30am. Due to the busy time of year, we strongly advise using public transport.

Competition Time!
Remember we are hosting a best dressed competition so feel free to jingle up your Santa tops, dress the family as reindeers, or your get your boss dressed as Jack Frost. Post the pictures online, tagging in Beatson Cancer Charity for your chance to win a festive treat. Competition photos can also be sent to via email.

Toilet Facilities
There will be toilet facilities at the Muster area on the centre path of Glasgow Green and Secondary finish area at Nelson's Column. These will service both pre and post-race needs, however as these are likely to be extremely busy, please ensure you leave yourself sufficient time. There are no toilets on the route.
Post-event Survey
In the days following the event, all attendees will be invited to participate in a post-event survey. We encourage everyone to take part, as your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve and create even more memorable events in the future.
